About Alexis
Before I started my degree in English Literature, in my final year of Sixth Form I tutored year 11 students in the final term before their GCSE exams. The experience was amazing! I not only had the privilege of witnessing their confidence in themselves grow, but also of forming meaningful connections with them. By the time their exams came around, they were different students completely- I even caught some smiling faces leaving the exam hall! I truly loved every moment of helping those students, though I cannot take any credit for their success. As I previously mentioned, I believe that the power to excel is within every pupil- and the key to doing so is through building confidence. Together we will find that confidence, and we will prove to yourself that you have the ability to shine.

I am a believer that it is never too late for a student to excel in their studies. If it is English Language or Literature you wish to improve in, I am confident that you can do so before your exams begin! Together we can: - Improve your essay structure. - Strengthen your existing ideas. - Improve close-reading/ analysis skills. Practice makes perfect, and that is why I promote essay planning and writing as a form of revision. Once we have revised the basics and worked together to form an essay plan, I am happy to mark and give feedback on the completed piece according to your exam board’s marking criteria, to give you the best possible chance of excelling in your final exams. There is no such thing as a bad essay, just a work in progress! I am available weekday evenings for however long suits your needs. I offer zoom sessions between 30 minutes to 2 hours.
