About Lucy
Growing up, I wasn't always passionate about mathematics. For a long time, it felt like the subject you simply had to get through. While other lessons had moments of creativity and discussion, maths often felt as though every lesson was another exam, leaving little room to explore ideas or learn in a way that suited me.
Everything changed when I started studying mathematics outside the classroom. Without the pressure of keeping pace with everyone else or constantly preparing for assessments, I was able to learn in a way that worked for me. I discovered that mathematics is, at its heart, about solving puzzles, recognising patterns, and developing logical ways of thinking. Learning at my own pace allowed me to build genuine understanding rather than simply memorising methods.
As my confidence grew, so did my enjoyment. My grades improved naturally, not because I was under more pressure, but because I was learning in a way that matched how I understood the subject. That experience showed me how powerful personalised learning can be. It is one of the main reasons I enjoy tutoring: every student learns differently, and helping them find an approach that suits them can transform maths from a source of frustration into a subject they genuinely enjoy and succeed in.

I'm a university student offering online maths tutoring for Primary and GCSE students. I achieved a First-Class grade in my first year at university, an A in A-Level Mathematics, and a Grade 8 in GCSE Maths. I provide friendly, patient, and personalised online lessons of up to one hour via video call, tailored to each student's needs.
