About Elizabeth
I have always had a passion for english literature, reading, and creative writing, however I found that the education system made the things that I loved, boring and challenging to enjoy.
I was lucky enough to have a passionate and enthusiastic english teacher that taught me english literature in a way that was both exciting, and also allowed me to achieve the best possible grades when I took my exams.
Because of this, I was trusted to take on on small classes of english students at my old school while I was doing my A Levels, and found that having a fellow student explain things can be much more helpful and relatable.
Seeing those students achieve well in their exams both developed my passion further, and allowed me to establish which teaching methods were most useful .
With the right teacher, english doesn't have to be boring or difficult !

I predominantly tutor students taking GCSE and A level exams but also have some experience tutoring younger children in reading and comprehension.
Since it was not too long ago that I took these exams myself, I am well acquainted with the style of writing, knowledge needed, and best methods of writing that will allow students to achieve grades at the highest of their ability.
My lessons in the past have involved past paper practice, text analysis and broadening knowledge of vocabulary.
I believe in flexibility and freedom in learning and have found in my own studies that a tutor that listens to your individual wants and needs in terms of studying, is one that is most helpful. I aim to understand my students as individuals, and learn which style of learning is best suited for them while providing a relaxed and comfortable learning environment without stress!
