About Alys

I discovered my passion for languages at the age of 11, and ever since, I’ve been inspired to help younger students build confidence and excitement in their language-learning journey. I believe that fostering confidence and making the process enjoyable are the cornerstones of effective learning. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment where students can explore and fall in love with languages while developing their skills in a natural and relaxed environment. I tailor each session to suit individual needs, ensuring that language learning is both productive and fun, and helps students to improve their skills using topics that interest them.

About the lesson

In my lessons I will focus on developing students' confidence in their Spanish language skills, focusing on speaking, reading and listening skills, as well as providing feedback on written work. I will be providing 30 minute lessons for GCSE and A level students in Spanish, as well as conversation sessions for students with a CEFR level of A1-C1 in Spanish. I achieved a level 9 in Spanish at GCSE and an A in A level, and I have a degree in French, Spanish and Portuguese from the University of Bristol. I spent 3 months living and working in Spain which helped me to develop my fluency and conversational skills.

My sessions will be 30 minutes long as standard, unless the student requests a longer session. Usually, students benefit more from 30 minute lessons because it means they are able to stay focused for the entire duration of the lesson. Language learning is hard, it's tough work for our brains, we need to allow ourselves time to process!

If a student books a longer session, the fee will be as follows:

30 minutes: £9 per session
45 minutes: £13.50 per session
1 hour: £18 per session.

I offer packs of classes as follows:

5 lessons of 30 minutes: £40
10 lessons of 30 minutes: £75

5 lessons of 1 hour: £80
10 lessons of 1 hour: £150
