About Oskar
I am a lover of languages and cultures who started learning Portuguese independently while at school. My love of Brazil and broader Lusophone culture led me to read Portuguese at St John's College at the University of Cambridge, and I have also studied and worked in several parts of Brazil, including Rio and Sao Paulo. My linguistics background gives me an advantage as a teacher, as does my experience of learning several other languages, in many cases independently.

Classes are tailored to the individual needs of my students to cover the essential skills of Brazilian Portuguese: speaking, listening, reading and writing. I have experience preparing students for the Edexcel A Level in Portuguese, which includes an introduction to reading literature in Portuguese and producing written work of a high standard.
I value highly students who are willing to participate actively, to take risks and achieve the very best in their studies of Portuguese. I can offer flexible lesson times of 1-3 hours depending on the needs of my students, and will set independent work to build on lesson material.
