About Taylor
Hello, I’m Taylor and I hope you’ll choose me as your tutor! I am currently awaiting my PhD examination at the University of Cambridge. My PhD project was on HPV, and I’m happy to discuss it further if you’re interested! I graduated from the University of
Lancaster top of my year with a first class integrated masters degree in Biomedicine. Prior to that I studied History, Biology and Chemistry at A level (A*A*B) and received 10 A*s and one A at GCSE. I have taught lab techniques to students during my PhD and taught in practical classes in the final year of my undergraduate degree. I have also been a gymnastics coach for which I received a professional qualification. I have also presented my research at national and international conferences. I’m happy to tutor Biology or similar life sciences up to degree levels, and would be happy to tutor other areas in which I have reasonable qualifications. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch! I am based near Manchester but can also tutor in London.
I got involved with rowing whilst in Cambridge, and during my undergraduate degree I joined Muay Thai, karate, and cheerleading clubs. I love reading and cinema, and have gotten to experience theatre and musicals on the West End more often recently. For a fun fact: if you google my full name you will usually find photos that I took of a dog, which accidentally went viral a few years ago!

Tutoring can be so helpful to unlock your full potential in subjects, whether you are already quite confident and want to reach a higher grade, or if you feel you are really struggling. I think with clear goals and a careful isolation of key areas, tutoring can unpick areas of difficulty and make them easier to approach. One of the best ways to learn is to teach, so I am keen to tutor to reinforce my existing knowledge and allow me to brush up on topics I haven’t considered for a while.

I lived next door to Taylor at University, and, as we both studied Biomedical Science, she soon became one of my closest friends. Within days of knowing Taylor I soon realised how incredibly conscientious and intelligent she is. Through being lecture buddies and lab partners, Taylor helped me constantly throughout my degree, and believe that eventually she aided me to achieve my 2:1. Taylor is unique in her teaching style, and can make learning a truly enjoyable experience. She has a refreshingly unique view of the world which can be seen in her study technique; incorporating mind maps, colourful drawings and flashcards. I would wholeheartedly recommend Taylor as a tutor, and believe she can engage, enthuse and motivate any student to success.
I am very happy to give Taylor a recommendation as a Biology tutor. She has an extensive background in biology having recently completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge in virology. She has presented lectures to audiences throughout the world, those that I have seen have been very insightful and engaging. She is a very patient, thoughtful and likable person making for an excellent tutor.
