About Marissa
I recently completed an undergrad degree in a human biology program. I have been tutoring in certain math and science courses for 4 years, having achieved honor roll (high school) and the Dean's list (university) consistently throughout my academic career.

I work through problems in a variety of ways with the understanding that everyone learns differently. I describe the reasons for rules, etc., we may come across in the hope that a more complete understanding will serve students better for longer. I am best equipped to assist high school students or first year biology students at this time.

Perfect! We weren't sure what to expect but we were very impressed after the first session. My daughter was having difficulty with her High School Chemistry unit. After only one hour with Marissa she feels very confident with where she's at and is excited for her next class in school. She said that Marissa explained everything perfectly, much better than her teacher. We are delighted to have met with Marissa and we will be meeting with her again if we need more help. Thank you very much Marissa!
Perfect! Great teacher... patient and knowledgeable. Able to take complex ideas and break them down into bite-size concepts. Helped my daughter excel in chemistry!

I have known Marissa for about 11 years now and I would highly recommend her for anyone who is struggling with math. Her genuine love for the subject makes her an incredible tutor as she wants you to truly understand mathematical concepts instead of just teaching you enough to get by. Having personally been on the receiving end of her help, I can attest to her amazing teaching ability. She is patient and is always ready to try a different way of solving a problem if one way does not work for you. You will not regret hiring Marissa!
