About Olivia
I have recently graduated from the University of Manchester with a Masters in Chemistry. I am currently working part time whilst exploring different potential work opportunities. I am based in withington Manchester but am able to travel to students homes to tutor. I am currently very flexible with my time.
I have previous experience in one to one maths tutoring from ages 14 to 17, teaching large groups aged 6-18 in acting, singing and dancing and lastly coaching and running netball teams/club. I love working with other students and using all the knowledge I have gained whilst studying to help other progress. I have developed many methods of studying that I believe enabled me to achieve excellent grades. I am open to teaching a range of ages from starting school to their last year of A levels.
As a teacher I am patient, proactive, set high yet achievable goals and expect the unexpected.

I create an engaging and welcoming environment for my students. Building a relationship that allows them to feel confident in their ability to ask questions and widen their ability to think critically.
I start my lessons with questions referring to the previous lessons content, engaging their brains whilst adding in an element of revision. Examples and exercises are also essential as they make the lessons interesting and enjoyable. I also like to give the student a small piece of work to do ready for the next lesson. This formative study enables me to understand how the student is progressing.
