I'm a political science major with heavy coursework in mathematics. I've tutored Calculus, Geometry, Algebra I, II and other math courses for over 4 years, helping students with a variety of learning challenges experience greater success and confidence in their coursework.

I have a three step approach: instruction, practice, and examination. I like to start off my classes reviewing the topic the student is struggling with, and work over any specific examples needed for homework. Once a basic understanding is established, I create further exercises for us to work on together. After a sufficient degree of understanding is established, I give small tests to my students in order to gauge their understanding and simulate the real life pressure conditions of a test. I've found this to be especially effective because the student proves not only to me or their parent that they know the material, but to themselves.
