About Caroline
I am a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with degrees in Writing Seminars, Psychology, and Spanish and am currently completing a Master’s Program in Creative Writing at the University of Oxford. In addition to academic literature, I have written for MultiVu Multimedia and Productions and the Union County Prosecutor's office. As an undergraduate, I edited student writing samples sent to a university literary journal. I also have five years of tutoring experience with students ranging from elementary school to high school.

My goal is to teach my students to write well, from wherever their starting point may be. I tutor especially for college admissions essay development and college/graduate level writing taught in classical style. The college essay can be the deciding factor in the admissions process. By helping students craft pieces that are not only well-written but also reflect heart, I increase their chance to enter top choice schools. My approach includes mastering clear purpose and structure as well as escalating creativity and aesthetics. I lead students to word choices that are colorful, concrete, and compelling, all fit within a composition focused on the hook, flow, and lasting impact. In order engender inspiration, I provide prompts for students to come up with their own awesome ideas, then help them to filter and refine these ideas. I also offer enrichment in both basic and perceptive grammar alongside baseline proofreading. Writing is an essential and wildly transferable skill and through it, I would love to help you or your child become the best communicator possible.
