Hi!
I have my Dogwood and am working towards a bachelor's degree. I have been volunteering with children for 8 years, including but not limited to, after school academic programs.
I am a combined English Literature and Language major going into education at UBC.

Throughout my academic career, I've realized the classes I've excelled in were the ones where the teachers were engaging and willing to go the extra mile to make sure their students understood the material.
I understand that every student is different and am flexible and willing to adapt to my student's preferred learning method. I like to incorporate real-world examples into my tutoring so students can relate easier!
I want to benefit my students as much as possible and therefore am open to any suggestions or resources parents or the student can provide!

Ask a lot of good questions to let kids think.
Jasmine has been incredibly kind and patient with my son. She takes time to explain tough concepts to him in a way he can understand and reviews his work thoroughly to make sure he’s keeping up. My son even looks forward to his tutoring sessions with Jasmine! I highly recommend her to any parent searching for a dedicated, thorough, and personable tutor.
Jasmine has been teaching my son for over 3 months now. She uses many interactive methods to engage my son in the lessons. My son loves her very much. He improved his speaking and writing skills over these time and he is not afraid to speak up now. I'm so thankful for Jasmine.

Details
My first lesson is a "get know you" lesson! I will discuss with the student and their parent about the student's knowledge level and academic history. This gives me a chance to understand the student's base level and allows me to create a more tailored lesson plan :)
12hrs notice for cancellation or the full cost of the lesson will be required.
