About Lavanya
My name is Lavanya and I am a first year university student - well technically I am a first year degree apprentice, doing university and work all at the same time.
Ever since I was little, I have always enjoyed reading and writing my own stories. I would get very happy whenever it was time for English in school or when my mother would let me study English instead of mathematics at home. I would even get happy, teaching my parents how to improve their written English especially considering that English is not their first language. Taking all of this into consideration, it makes sense as to why I wish to tutor students in English.
Furthermore when I was younger, though English was my favourite subject, I did struggle quite a bit due to initial learning difficulties. However seeing how my teachers went out of their way to help me grasp the subject, I want to help others do the same.

My approach to tutoring is based around personalising the lessons to each and every student as per their needs. As someone who initially struggled in this subject, I understand the importance of having lessons which are catered to one's needs and it feels personalised to them.
Whilst yes I am new in the tutoring field, I have experience in teaching my younger sister and children I have babysat English, having spent hours teaching them to spell, read and to analyse text.
The typical length of a lesson with me will be an hour long, however feel free to contact me about the time length of the lesson.
My lessons are for primary school students (ages 4-11), KS3 students (ages 11 - 14) and GCSE students (14-16).
I understand the initial hesitation of having someone new to tutoring to help teach your child, which is why I have attached comments from my teachers in regards to my English work.
