About Helena
I am a 6th form student, and although I no longer take history as a subject, as I decided to stop after GCSE, I've always enjoyed teaching history, as I find it to be a fascinating subject. I received a 9 (equivalent to an A**) in my GCSEs in 2019, and have been continuing to read up on different subjects ever since.

I start each topic by covering the general timeline first, to make sure that the student as a general understanding of the events that happened in that certain time period. I then start teaching the events that lead up to the period in question, as I feel that context is always extremely important. Then I go through each event, in detail, using aids such as documentaries and youtube videos to help my students fully understand.

Helena has been my tutor for a few months now, and she always brings so much joy and enthusiasm to our lessons. She's just so knowledgable, and the fact that she backs up her teaching with more interactive elements is really helpful for me. She also sometimes will use videos/documentaries to back up her teaching, which I find useful, as I tend to learn better when visual aids are involved.
Helena is one of the most kind, intelligent, funny, and helpful people I know. When we were doing our GCSEs, she would help me brush up on some areas that I desperately needed to study on, and the fact that we’ve only recently completed our GCSEs to me shows that she is good at really connecting with the student, as she was so recently in the same boat as them.
