About Jessica
I am currently on the journey to becoming a Qualified Actuary. 2.1 in BSc Economics and Mathematics Achieved an A in A-Level Maths Achieved an A in GCSE Method of Mathematics Achieved an A in GCSE Application of Mathematics Achieved a Pass in Level 3 Statistics I have been teaching students privately in preparation for their exams since 2018 I have so far taught /mentored 5 students and have a flexible schedule. Being tutored by myself is more than passing your exams but instilling lifelong skills and characteristics that you can implement in your other studies and in the future.

As a tutor I am caring, passionate, enthusiastic and excited about providing engaging and challenging learning experiences. My aim is to assist, encourage and support students to achieve their learning goals. I have several teaching methods depending on the student's learning capability. I offer the demonstrative style - where I retain the formal authority role by showing students what they need to know. Here I'm a lot like the lecturer, I will introduce a topic, followed by examples and then questions for my students to try themselves. I offer the facilitator style - this method promotes self-learning and helps students develop critical thinking skills and retain knowledge that leads to self-actualisation. This style also trains students to ask questions and helps them develop skills to find answers and solutions through exploration. And finally I offer the most interactive style where lessons may involve the use of PowerPoint slides, and cue cards of questions. We go through mathematics problems step by step. At the end of each method, students will be tested on a number of questions. Students will be set homework at the end of every lesson to test their understanding. This is then reviewed at the start of their next lesson to check their understanding before moving on. Students are free to email me outside of tutor sessions when they need help with an assignment. All homework will be complete. I'm a patient individual and understand the frustration of not understanding the algebra and numbers. Be rest assured you'll understand it in no time.. the fun way!
