About Joel

Hi there! I'm here to help you feel confident and excited about learning French or Spanish. With a degree in both languages from the University of Warwick and over 3 years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with students at all levels, and I know how to make language learning approachable and effective.

My lessons are friendly, interactive, and tailored just for you. We’ll focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills with activities that are fun and practical. Whether you’re preparing for GCSE, A-levels, or just want to feel comfortable speaking in everyday situations, I’ll guide you step-by-step, creating a comfortable space where questions are always welcome.

Each lesson is designed to build confidence and make steady progress toward your goals. If you're ready to improve your language skills in a relaxed but structured way, let's get started!

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is student-centered, tailored to each individual’s goals and learning style. I believe language learning should be both structured and engaging, so I use a mix of conversational practice, interactive exercises, and traditional methods to build a strong foundation in vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension.

Teaching Methodology and Techniques:
I focus on practical, immersive learning to help students gain confidence in real-world communication. For each lesson, I begin with a brief review of previous material, then introduce new topics or concepts through relatable scenarios, role-plays, and dialogue practice. I make use of visual aids, audio resources, and writing exercises to engage different aspects of learning. Speaking is a priority in my sessions, as it often builds the most confidence, but I ensure a balance across speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Lesson Structure:
A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes, but I can adjust the length to suit each student’s needs and concentration levels. I often recommend weekly sessions to maintain continuity and allow for steady progress.

Qualifications and Experience:
I hold a degree in French and Spanish from the University of Warwick, and I have over 3 years of tutoring experience, helping students achieve high grades in GCSE and A-level exams. My background also includes extensive study and practical application of both languages, making me well-equipped to address the nuances of each.

Suitable for:
My lessons are designed for students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. I work with school-age students preparing for GCSEs or A-levels, as well as adult learners who want to enhance their language skills for personal or professional reasons.
