I have been a chess tutor within my community for over 3 years. Tutoring mostly kids aged from 8-12. Teaching these kids the basics of how the pieces move, and more complex techniques such as how to checkmate quickly and efficiently.

As a chess tutor, my approach is based on fostering a comprehensive understanding of the game while making the learning experience enjoyable and engaging. To share my knowledge effectively, I employ guided discovery: encourage students to explore chess concepts through problem-solving, allowing them to develop a deeper understanding of the game. A typical lesson plan includes Warm-up activity: A brief review of previously learned concepts or a chess puzzle to stimulate critical thinking. Introduction of new material: Present and explain new strategies, tactics, or game principles. Guided practice: With my guidance and support, students apply the new concepts through practice games or exercises.
Independent practice: Students work on individual tasks or puzzles to consolidate their understanding. Wrap-up and reflection: A summary of the lesson, discussion of key takeaways, and setting goals for the next session. The lessons are for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals of chess.
