About Gianna
With a BM in Sacred Music (Piano/Organ) and 6 years of teaching experience, I bring a balanced approach to piano instruction. My academic background supports structured learning, while my love for ragtime, stride, and early jazz adds excitement to each lesson. These historical styles help students develop strong rhythm and expressive phrasing. I enjoy teaching school-aged learners who are discovering piano for the first time. I also work with adults who want to dive into vintage piano techniques. I use simple explanations and clear demonstrations. Each lesson builds confidence through steady progress. I guide students in understanding both the technical and musical aspects of the style. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and meaningful. I keep lessons supportive and practical. My teaching approach centres on nurturing creativity while providing structured guidance for piano composition. I teach how to craft melodies, harmonies, and musical themes. Students also learn to build intros, outros, and transitions that connect ideas. My lessons blend theory with hands-on songwriting exercises. I work with The Therapy Seeker and The Jazz Pianist to develop expressive musical voices. Each session emphasises turning small ideas into complete compositions. I provide clear, supportive feedback to guide improvement. Students practise improvisation alongside structured composition exercises. I show how to organise motifs, chord progressions, and musical phrases. Lessons encourage creativity while maintaining clarity and form. Students gain confidence in crafting their own pieces. I guide them in developing practical skills for original music creation. Together, we’ll build music that represents your voice. You’ll leave each session closer to composing your musical legacy.
