About Yari

I am a 22-year-old student at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, majoring in Psychology and Spanish. I immigrated from the Dominican Republic at the age of 7, relocating to the United States with my family. As a self-driven, compassionate, and helpful person, I've consistently demonstrated my ability to assist others. While growing up, I became the go-to person for adults, from translating at medical appointments to reading letters for my grandmother. I've retained a strong connection to my roots and the Spanish language, and I'm excited to share the beauty of my native language with others.

About the lesson

¡Hola Students!

I'm a native Spanish speaker who grew up in the Dominican Republic and came to the United States at the age of 7. Currently, I'm pursuing a major in psychology with a minor in Spanish at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Get ready for a class that's not only informative but also loads of fun! We'll dive into Spanish with songs, engaging conversations, and I'll be your Spanish-speaking buddy. My Spanish is a mix of the elegant Spain Spanish and the lively Dominican Spanish, making the learning experience super exciting and enjoyable. Can't wait to meet you all and make a new friend in our one-on-one class. ¡Hasta pronto!

I knew Yari from our advanced Spanish 4 class. She was such a big help in the class as she was the only one who actually knew how to speak Spanish and understood the language. She was so funny and just an overall great person. I hope you guys get to meet her and enjoy her class.
