About Tina
I am a third-year Materials Engineering student at the University of Toronto, currently completing a year-long internship. Through my degree, I have developed a strong foundation in mathematics and chemistry, including advanced coursework in calculus and materials-related chemistry. In my free time, I love to paint and draw.

I tailor my teaching approach to each student by first identifying the specific concepts or problem areas they find most challenging. From there, I focus lessons on strengthening those areas through targeted explanation and guided practice.
As a third-year engineering student, I have learned that mastery comes through consistent practice and active problem-solving. My tutoring style emphasizes active learning: I work through common problem types with students, guide them as they attempt challenging questions independently, and provide feedback to help them recognize and correct mistakes.
I primarily work with middle school and high school students, particularly in mathematics. I enjoy helping younger students build both their technical skills and confidence in problem-solving. My background in engineering at the University of Toronto has given me strong analytical and mathematical foundations that I bring into every tutoring session.

I have known Tina for a full-year as a teacher at Michael Power/St. Joseph's Catholic Secondary School. Tina is a very patient teacher who is extremely knowledgeable in the subject area of mathematics. Tina was an important member of our afterschool tutoring team at our secondary school. She was a reliable member who was very well-liked by the students who required math help from her. I would definitely recommend Tina to be a Superprof member. She has a wonderful sense of humour. She loves to teach children and she will be an asset to your company.
I've known Tina for two years, and since the beginning, I've known her to be an energetic, extremely passionate, and headstrong person. Tina sets personal goals that appear mildly unrealistic to the average student, such as earning her acceptance to you of t engineering while managing ib coursework or becoming a published author. Yet, time and time again I have underestimated her. Tina is rigidly structured in her studies and organizes nearly every aspect of her life to meet her goals most efficiently. She has even planned my post-secondary education for me, researching my personal major specialization and possible grad schools before I even thought about it. When teaching students, Tina has a direct approach to explaining concepts in the most simple and precise way and is able to quickly pick up on a student's learning style. Tina has the unique ability to peer into a student's mind and recognizing what they do and do not understand as she teaches, and how she can effectively change her own approach to meet their needs.
Tina thoroughly explains all content with a high degree of knowledge by answering all questions related to the subject taught/tutored! I highly recommend her as she will help you achieve your academic goals no matter how ambitious!
Tina is an amazing math tutor. She is very easygoing, understanding, and patient.
