About Sebastian

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of South Florida and an MBA from Webber International University. My background combines strong mathematical knowledge, teaching experience, and professional experience that allows me to connect with students at different levels.

Before beginning my professional career as a Business Analyst, I spent a year teaching in Spain. That experience taught me how to communicate complex ideas clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

I was also a college soccer athlete while pursuing my Mathematics degree at USF. Balancing academics with collegiate athletics taught me discipline, time management, consistency, and the importance of working toward long-term goals. I bring those same qualities into my tutoring sessions.

My goal is to help students not only improve their grades, but also develop a stronger understanding of mathematics and the confidence to solve problems independently. I believe every student can improve in math with the right explanations, practice, and support.

I offer online one-on-one tutoring through Zoom for students from middle school through college. I can help with subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, College Mathematics, and related coursework.

Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for an exam, strengthening their foundation, or getting ahead in their class, I tailor each lesson to their individual needs and goals.

I look forward to helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals in mathematics.

My approach to tutoring is centered on understanding, confidence, and personalized instruction. I believe students learn mathematics best when they understand not only how to solve a problem, but why the solution works. I adapt my teaching style to each student's learning level, strengths, and areas that need improvement.

Lessons are conducted online through Zoom, providing a convenient and comfortable learning environment from home. I use screen sharing, digital whiteboards, examples, and guided practice to make each lesson interactive and easy to follow.

A typical lesson begins by reviewing the student's current coursework and identifying any areas of difficulty. We then work through concepts step-by-step, using examples to build understanding before moving into practice problems. I encourage students to explain their reasoning and ask questions throughout the lesson. We finish by reviewing the key concepts covered and identifying what the student should focus on before our next session.

What sets me apart is the combination of my academic, professional, and teaching experience. I earned my degree in Mathematics from the University of South Florida and later completed my MBA. I currently work as a business analyst and also have experience teaching in Spain. This allows me to bring both strong mathematical knowledge and real-world communication and teaching experience to each lesson.

I work with students from middle school through college, including Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, College Mathematics, and other related courses. I can also help students prepare for exams, complete challenging assignments, strengthen foundational skills, or simply become more confident in mathematics.

My goal is not just to help students get the right answer. I want them to develop the skills and confidence to approach the next problem on their own.
