About Sofia
I am a flute tutor with 7 years of experience teaching high school, college students, and adults. Over this time, I have taught around 300 students, helping them grow in technique, musicality, and confidence. My teaching philosophy is to create lessons that are structured, interactive, and enjoyable. I focus on tone, technique, rhythm, and music theory while encouraging creativity and self-expression.
I believe that learning the flute should be a fun and inspiring journey, where students feel proud of their progress. Many of my students have performed in school concerts, college events, and competitions, which I consider proud milestones. My goal is to guide students in building discipline, confidence, and a lifelong love for music while helping them discover their unique musical voice.

My teaching approach for flute focuses on clarity, adaptability, and practical learning. I create a comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to learn and improve.
I communicate flute concepts such as breathing techniques, embouchure control, finger accuracy, tone quality, and rhythm using simple explanations. I adapt lessons through demonstrations, listening exercises, and hands-on practice based on learning style.
I include real-life musical examples and case studies from concerts, recordings, and familiar compositions. This helps students connect lessons with real musical experiences.
Along with flute instruction, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, scale practice, sight reading, and basic performance skills. I also guide students on practice planning and musical expression.
