About Sarah
Over nineteen years I have taught 985 students singing, a career spanning long enough that I have occasionally taught the younger siblings of students I first met many years earlier. My own vocal background spans classical training, informal performance, and years of teaching across an extremely wide range of ages, goals, and starting confidence levels. I am known among long term students for being adaptable and endlessly patient, a reputation built from encountering nearly every kind of vocal and motivational challenge imaginable. I remain just as genuinely engaged with a brand new nervous beginner today as with my first student.

After nineteen years of teaching singing, I place enormous value on adapting my approach individually, rather than applying one fixed method across every student I work with throughout my career. With beginners I focus on slow, gentle confidence building, while with advanced singers I move toward more independent, exploratory work with far less direct guidance provided over time. I draw on nearly two decades of accumulated teaching experience, usually already knowing several different ways to explain a stubborn vocal habit when a standard approach is not working for someone. Breathing and technique exercises are always connected directly to repertoire a student genuinely cares about.
