About Kimberlyn
Violin & Viola Tutor With 19 years of playing experience, I bring a wealth of musical knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching.
I first learnt violin through the Suzuki method, going on to achieve Grade 8 and study at the Birmingham Junior Conservatoire. Along the way, I also explored piano and viola, giving me a well-rounded musical background.
I offer lessons for children and adults up to Grade 5, tailoring each session to your goals — whether that’s following a structured method, preparing for exams, or simply learning the pieces you love.
I pride myself on being patient, organised, and positive, and I make sure every lesson is enjoyable and focused, with clear practice notes to help you progress confidently between sessions.
I have performed with ensembles such as the Leicester Symphony Orchestra, Knighton Concert Orchestra, and the University of Leicester Orchestra, as well as various chamber groups. These experiences have shaped me into a versatile musician, and I’m excited to share that expertise with my students.

Are you a beginner at violin/viola or simply interested in improving your playing to do more with your instrument? Then lessons with me are your next investment!
The first lesson will involve introducing you to the instrument if you are a beginner or gaining a baseline of your knowledge of the instrument and music theory if you are not a total beginner.
I will focus on short pieces and then build on this using the Suzuki method if you are interested in classical music. This method is great for those who want to learn to play music by ear but also read music and appreciate music theory.
I am open to teaching ages 5 years+ and can travel to your home for lessons. Send me a DM with what you're looking for and we can work together!
