About Tom
I have over 20 years of experience teaching various social studies, including both Advanced Placement and college prep courses for students in Grades 7-12. I've worked in both private and public schools. I've taught well over 1,000 students. The majority of my students, particularly those private school students of mine, have attended post-secondary schools and are now in a variety of professions, entrepreneurs, and in some cases inventors. Others have chosen to focus on both the visual and performing arts. I have enjoyed supporting them in whatever educational and career development direction that they choose to pursue.

My approach to teaching is focused on a student-centered philosophy. I believe each student is unique in their learning styles and interests, and it is my responsibility as a teacher to develop and implement learning experiences that match my students' strengths, learning styles, and interests.
