About Valentina
Hello there, my name is Valentina and I am an aspiring art teacher and professional mural artist. I live in Ilhabela, Brazil and have a long history in drawing, painting and tutoring. I'm passionate about traveling and have lived in Peru, Germany and the US, finding inspiration in culture and nature wherever I roam. I am currently a student of Design and Motion Graphics, with years of studies of Fine Arts with the School of Arts Maestro Fego Camargo and with private tutors, so what I teach is straight from the hands of the professionals. Anyone that knows me would say that I'm one of the most easy-going and calm people they've met, and that there's nothing you can't talk to me that won't result in a great conversation (and sometimes a therapy session).

These courses are perfect for anyone looking to get started from absolute zero into the art world, up to intermediate level artists that wish to improve their skills.
My lessons are tailored to your personal needs. That means I teach what you want to learn, or I create a lesson plan to achieve the results you have in mind. If you want to learn the basic techniques of shading; I teach you these skills in a few fast paced lessons. If you wish to learn about watercolor, mandalas, or how to create your on wall art, I'll create the lessons necessary to make your learning experience easy and fun! And there are just some examples from the larger list of possibilities.
A typical lesson plan will come with a set of easy vocabulary, a visually appealing and easy to understand lesson, and live demos. Lessons take place in person, if you are willing to meet up, or on Zoom, Google Hangouts, or Discord! Students do NOT have to use their camera, but I will be using mine as well as sharing my screen to show demos and explanations.
To provide a glimpse into what my lessons look like, it usually begins with an exercise aimed at loosening the hand and getting comfortable with the materials. It goes on to a more theoretical part, when the student will get to learn established techniques used by artists to achieve brilliant results with correct proportions, movement and alluring compositions. By the end of each class we decide on a theme which is then used by the supervised student to create a piece of art of their own. The goal of these lessons is to develop an understanding of artistic techniques and logic with the student, to debunk the idea that they are "not artistic" by making the process fun, clearer and easier.
A list of materials will be provided for each specific lesson. Materials vary from subject to subject; for example, 300g paper is needed for Watercolor and pencils are necessary for Drawing.

With longer than 10 years of experience as an artist and over 2 years as a teacher, you can expect a flexible and fun class, created to suit each students needs and expectations.
I also encourage the student to explore their creativity and use different medias, such as watercolors, oil paint, digital art (using free software), acrylic paint and markers, which allows them to incorporate art into their daily life and bring great flexibility to express creativity.

Perfect! Valentina is an amazing teacher. I had a particular learning need on drawing which she completely owned to put her best to reach my goals.
She was relentless in followups, giving right practices and quite committed to teaching. Valentina is methodical, yet flexible, tries different approaches, very easy & fun to work with. She is a gem of a person.Perfect! Valentina is always asking questions and making sure the experience is tailored to my specific needs.
