About Joanna
My name is Joanna Hu, an experienced music teacher, and professional performer. I obtained my Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance & Vocal Pedagogy from NYU in 2014. I am currently an adjunct voice faculty at NYU, teaching private voice lessons. In order to help students to build healthy and efficient singing techniques, I personalize lesson plans corresponding to individuals' needs. In addition, I specialize teaching several music genres, including classical, musical theatre, contemporary commercial music. I always find singing brings joy and happiness to our lives. I have been teaching piano and voice for more than 10 years. I am experienced in working with young kids and teenagers, between age 5 to 15. In my lessons, I implement dynamic instructions, including the use of
listening, sight-reading, rhythmic and improvisational skills. My goal is to encourage students to practice consistently and help them to develop interests in music.
