About Lydia
I am an enthusiastic Guitar tutor with 6 years of teaching experience and a record of training nearly 300 students across High School, College, and adult groups. I love guiding students through their musical journey, whether they are complete beginners or learners who want to improve their existing skills. Teaching guitar is more than a job for me—it is a way to share my passion and inspire others. My teaching philosophy is grounded in patience, communication, and hands-on learning. I believe that music becomes easier when students understand the ‘why’ behind what they play. That is why I focus on building strong fundamentals like accurate finger placement, smooth chord shifting, rhythm timing, and melody-based practice. I introduce theory in simple forms so students can understand scales, chords, and progressions without feeling confused. A major achievement in my teaching career is helping many students prepare for stage performances, school programmes, and hobby projects. I’ve also guided students who wanted to learn guitar simply for personal satisfaction, helping them find confidence and peace through music. Seeing each student’s growth—whether big or small—remains one of the most rewarding parts of my work. My lessons are structured but flexible, allowing students to learn at their comfort level. I use practical examples, familiar songs, and step-by-step breakdowns to make learning enjoyable. My aim is to help every learner build confidence, develop strong guitar skills, and experience the real joy of music.

My teaching approach for Guitar focuses on clear communication, flexible learning methods, and practical musical examples. I teach in a friendly and supportive way, helping students build confidence while learning at their own pace. I believe that when students relate to the music they play, learning becomes more exciting. I start with fundamental skills like correct posture, chord shapes, rhythm, and picking technique. When students feel comfortable, we move into scales, fingerstyle playing, improvisation, and stylistic techniques from genres like rock, pop, blues, and classical. I use real-life examples from songs, performances, and musician stories to explain ideas clearly. I teach related subjects such as Music Theory, Ear Training, Song Structure, Chord Progression Development, Rhythm Studies, and Tablature Reading. This gives students a complete musical understanding and supports their guitar growth. Communication is central to my method. I take time to understand the student’s learning style and adapt the lesson accordingly. Visual learners get diagrams, auditory learners get listening tasks, and practical learners get hands-on exercises. Each class includes guided practice, small assignments, and clear feedback. My goal is to help students grow steadily, enjoy their learning journey, and develop strong technical and creative skills on the guitar.
