About Omari
I’m a guitar teacher with over 8 years of experience and an Associate of Arts in Guitar Fundamentals. My focus is on helping students grow as confident, capable performers—whether they're auditioning for a band, playing in an ensemble, or preparing for the stage. I’ve coached players through school bands, worship teams, and gigging opportunities, always with an eye on musical excellence and personal growth. My teaching style is both encouraging and focused. I create a space where students feel supported to take risks, try new things, and push their skills. We work on stage presence, rhythmic tightness, and playing in sync with others. I emphasise listening, groove, and communication—key elements in any successful group. In lessons, we also explore creative collaboration, arrangement ideas, and how to serve the song as a guitarist. I give students the tools to express themselves musically and work well with fellow musicians. Whether you're aiming to nail your first band audition or tighten your live set, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. You’ll learn how to shine without overpowering, contribute with confidence, and bring your best to every musical situation. I work especially well with The Campfire Strummer and The Worship Leader, helping them sound their best in any setting. We also dive into practical topics that many players overlook. You'll learn how to change strings properly, maintain your guitar, and do a basic setup to keep it sounding great. I explain how different woods, strings, and picks affect tone so you can shape your sound with intention. We'll explore the basics of guitar electronics, effects pedals, and amp settings to help you build the tone that suits your style. Whether you're strumming at a gathering or leading music in a community space, I’ll make sure you're prepared and confident. My lessons are relaxed, supportive, and built around your goals. I give clear feedback and help you make steady progress without pressure. You’ll not only play better—you’ll understand your gear better too. Together, we’ll build skills that last and bring joy to your playing.
