About Sunayan

Testimonials
He asks us questions, guides our thought processes, and helps us connect concepts together without just lecturing for an hour. He explains concepts clearly, and multiple times if needed. He never loses his patience and he never assumes an attitude of haughty superiority to his students. What is expected in lab is made very clear; nothing ever comes as a surprise. He takes time to talk to each student one-on-one throughout the lab by asking how their week is going, how the class is going, if they understand the material, etc.”
“He certainly encouraged us to think critically. Additionally, his excitable disposition showed that he truly wanted us to learn. He was always cheerful, even when experiments or situations went awry, and he was very accommodating with his office hours. He always welcomed questions and worked with students patiently when they had trouble understanding a concept.”
“You showed me patience, kindness, and support. Without your help in biochemistry lab, I may have been forced to drop out of Clemson that semester.”
“You had such a great energy in the lab. It made the class fun and interesting. I remember you being very easy to come to for help. I had never written a lab report before college; it meant a lot to me for you to make extra time to teach me the proper way to construct a lab report. You built a great rapport with your students.”
“I loved your sunny disposition and you made learning fun. Always helpful and knowledgeable I could not think of a better person to be a teacher”
There is no feeling of contentedness that compares to seeing your students achieve their goals in their future endeavors. I was inspired by the teachers whom I can never forget. As Brad Henry wisely said, “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.” With that inspiration and paying it forward, I wish to step forward and contribute with my teaching in upbringing of a society bolstered on ‘wisdom and knowledge.’

Traditional and didactic methods of teaching can be too direct and sometimes lack creativity to encourage critical thinking. Along with content mastery, I will use current affairs, news, and personal anecdotes to connect abstract concepts with a more practical approach. Attention spans of most students is less than 9 seconds, so to help them maintain their interest, I find being able to relate science with everyday life is very effective.
