Here is my motto: "A good maths teacher ought to be an excellent storyteller, beforehand! " I believe that the lack of imagination about what students are being taught makes it challenging for them to learn mathematics. Hence, as a Maths teacher, I am supposed to create that imagination and provide a vivid description of what I am teaching to make the learning process more engaging and less challenging, just like what a storyteller does. Generally, I would prefer to take a friendly and casual approach to teaching to provide a comfortable atmosphere in such a way that mutual interaction can be easily achievable. For those who have already had the first session, I usually start teaching with either a short and sweet summary of previous pertinent materials or a practical example representing the application of the topic in a wider picture.
