I’m a guitar tutor with 8 years of experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Guitar Performance. My focus is on helping serious students prepare for high-level opportunities in the music industry. Whether you're aiming for auditions with touring bands, professional studio sessions, or advanced composition programs, I offer the tools and guidance to get you there. I bring a deep understanding of performance, tone, and phrasing across genres, and I tailor each lesson to match your artistic goals. Technique matters, but so does expression—and I believe both should grow together. I guide students through advanced fretboard work, improvisation, transcription, and real-world performance strategies. I’ve worked closely with students preparing for life-changing auditions, and I know how to build confidence in high-pressure moments. I’m also passionate about helping players craft their own voice through original compositions and arrangements. We’ll explore how to take risks musically while staying grounded in solid theory and execution. My approach is rigorous but supportive. My guitar teaching approach blends creativity with structure to help students grow as confident musicians and songwriters. I focus not only on technique but also on using the guitar as a tool for self-expression. Lessons cover songwriting on guitar, lyrical composition, chord progression choices, and arranging acoustic pieces. Each topic is broken down clearly and connected to real songs and personal projects.
I encourage students to bring their own ideas, even rough ones, into lessons. Together, we shape them into full musical stories. Whether you're writing your first song or refining a full set, I guide you with both practical tools and honest feedback.
I'm especially strong at helping The Blues Seeker explore feeling through melody and phrasing. For The Aspiring Rock Star, I push toward bold chord choices, powerful riffs, and clear lyrical direction. We work on building habits that support creativity and consistency. I also show how theory and structure can serve, not limit, the writing process. In every lesson, my goal is to help students write and play music that feels truly their own.
