About Shawn
I graduated from the IB program in high school in Geneva, Switzerland, and graduated on dean's list at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
From there I worked as a lighting designer for brands and organizations like National Geographic and Hermès creating the conditions in which National Geographic’s documentation of the COVID crisis was captured or in the driest desert in the world to capture campaigns for Hermès.
During COVID I cofounded the WSPJ photojournalism workshop based in Colorado. Our workshop and the work of our students was featured nationally.
For the last six years I have been working as a commercial photographer shooting cookbooks, portraits, campaigns and lookbooks for world-renowned brands, artists, political leaders and companies.

I come from an aesthetic theory and philosophy background, as well as a career of technical knowledge sharpened by working with some of the biggest commercial brands in the world.
I am a believer in the idea that the more interesting things you encounter and engage with the more interesting and layered work you will be able to create.
I intend for my lessons to take inspiration from all parts of life and historical as well as contemporary events. Philosophy and theory buttress the technical rules of aesthetics and support a more serious approach to our practice.
