Hi! My lessons follow two principles that have helped both myself and my students succeed academically in STEM. 1) Teach for complete understanding of the essence of math/sciences, NOT the exam and 2) Knowing how to learn is the most valuable skill a student has.
This does not mean I don't care about exams or exam technique; they're important and determine much of your future. However, to have the exam as the goal reduces the need for genuine comprehension of theory and concepts which leads to further issues down the line.
Philosophy aside, this means practically my lessons are very personal. I try and identify your personal strengths and weaknesses and we focus on you more than the content. We'll work through the obstacles that make learning or mastering maths/sciences difficult for you and break them down so that when you meet them again, you can continue on your journey. Learning is the destinaton.
I only offer online sessions due to current situations. I highly recommend that you use a tablet if available to you so that we can work through problems together in real-time (If you do not have a touchscreen stylus I can show you how to make a DIY one).
My goal as a tutor is to be fired, not because I am a bad tutor but because YOU became so confident in your learning abilities that I am no longer needed.
