About Steve
Hi! My name is Steve, and I’m a university student who enjoys helping others learn and feel more confident in their studies. I decided to become a tutor because I know that school can sometimes feel challenging or overwhelming, and having someone explain things in a simple, supportive way can make a big difference. I also remember the first time I had a tutor and they were boring. I don't wanna be that guy. I enjoy breaking down difficult concepts into easy steps and helping students realize they’re more capable than they think. My goal is to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving at your own pace. I want tutoring to not only help you achieve better results at school, but also help you build confidence and enjoy learning.

I take a student-centered approach to tutoring students from Years 2–10, focusing on building strong understanding, confidence, and independent learning skills. Each 1-hour lesson is structured to include a short review of previous material, clear step-by-step explanation of new concepts, guided practice, and time for independent problem-solving with feedback. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s age and learning pace, using simple explanations, real-life examples, and interactive questioning to keep lessons engaging. For younger students, I emphasize foundational skills and positive reinforcement, while for older students I focus on problem-solving strategies, study techniques, and exam preparation. My goal is not just to help students complete schoolwork, but to ensure they genuinely understand concepts and develop confidence to learn independently.
