I am a 22 year old Mathematics teacher with qualified teacher status from a PGCE. I also have a mathematics degreee which is not very common in UK mathematics teachers.
I've been interested in maths for a long time now. I really started to enjoy it during my A levels, its not been something that comes naturally to me which helps me to teach it. Since completing my A levels I've not turned away from the subject, its not something that is boring to me. Again this helps me to teach it, I love to see students who struggle enjoy what they are doing because they have been able to find the correct answer.
During my PGCE year I taught in two different UK high schools, teaching a range of levels within them. I have experience teaching both low and high level abilities and sixth from. I have recently spent a semester being a teaching assistant for a 3D calculus course at Carnegie Mellon. This required teaching classes on the subject and helping students one to one. I have been tutoring on and off throughout my degree but am looking to do it full time due to my personal situation.
I am interested in teaching; all levels at high school, 11-14, GCSE, all maths courses at sixth form and calculus at degree level.
In my spare time I love to play strategy board games. This fits in well with teaching as I am always the one left to explain the rules. Teaching has taught me how to convey a lot of difficult information in the most understandable but concise way possible. Other things I enjoy are cooking, crafts and music.
