About Muyi

Hi! I'm a passionate and experienced STEM tutor with over 6 years of teaching students from Grade 7 to university level. I specialize in math, physics, computer science, and university admissions coaching. I’ve helped students excel in challenging courses, succeed in computing competitions like the CCC and CCO, and gain admission to top universities such as the University of Toronto, UBC, UC Berkeley, and NYU. With a background in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto and professional experience as a Software Engineer at Amazon, I bring both academic insight and real-world perspective to every lesson. Whether you're preparing for a big test, exploring coding for the first time, or aiming for a top-tier university, I’ll guide you every step of the way—with patience, structure, and encouragement. Let’s turn your goals into results—together!

About the lesson

As a tutor with over six years of experience in both high school and university-level STEM and computer science education, my approach is concept-driven, personalized, and results-oriented. I focus on building a deep understanding of core principles before moving to application, using techniques like guided problem-solving, active recall, and real-world examples—especially in programming and algorithm design. A typical lesson begins with a review, followed by a focused concept breakdown, hands-on practice, and strategic feedback, all tailored to the student’s level and goals. I’ve worked with students from Grades 7–12, university undergraduates, and even younger learners aged 8–12, helping them succeed in academic courses, computer competitions like CCC and CCO, and admissions to top institutions such as UofT, UBC, Berkeley, and NYU. What sets me apart is my combined background as an educator and a former Amazon software engineer, allowing me to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world applications, and to mentor students not just for tests, but for future studies and careers.
