About Sophie
I’m a guitar tutor with 7 years of experience and a Diploma of Music specializing in guitar. My passion lies in helping musicians come together and create something bigger than themselves. Over the years, I’ve coached ensembles of all kinds — from full bands to duos and acoustic jam groups. I use a rehearsal-based teaching method that focuses on listening, timing, and creating tight, polished arrangements. This approach not only builds strong technical skills but also develops the instincts needed for real-world performance. I guide students in learning how to communicate musically, adapt to different players, and bring energy to every session. Watching students grow from bedroom players into confident performers is one of my greatest joys. I provide a safe, encouraging space for trying new ideas and finding your role within a group. My lessons are practical, collaborative, and always centered on the music you love. Whether you’re preparing for your first jam or refining your stage presence, I’ll help you get there. My guitar teaching methodology is built around student-led exploration and meaningful goal-setting. I believe every guitarist has their own unique path, and I help students discover it through personalized learning. I encourage students to bring in songs or ideas they’re passionate about so learning feels personal and exciting. I also help them set clear, achievable goals while leaving room for exploration. This balance of structure and freedom keeps learning both productive and inspiring.
