About William
I taught/tutored literature courses live and on-line 18 years in college and private academic high school; created college on-line World Literature course. I wrote 17 "great books" literary essays (e.g. Animal Farm, Picture of Dorian Gray, Canterbury Tales) published in respected academic textbooks. My high school students were accepted in many top 50 colleges including Princeton, Smith, Johns Hopkins, UVA, Penn State.

My teaching methods are based on the twin goals of instilling a love of learning and connecting subject matter to the lives of real students. I use various combinations of power point lecture, close reading of texts and discussions based on the learning style, interests and abilities of the particular students. I believe learning should be fun and engaging, as well as mind stretching.
