About Amanda
I began tutoring in my sophomore year of high school and went on to found a volunteer-based tutoring program, where I gained experience not only as a tutor but also as a mentor and leader, supporting over 65 tutors who supported more than 100 middle and high school students across a variety of subjects. In mathematics, I have consistently excelled—completing all available high school math courses with A+, (the highest math course I took is Multivariable Calculus). I earned a perfect 800 on the SAT Math section, and received the AMC 12 Honor Roll (top 5% nationwide) for two consecutive years. I also led my school’s math team to a 4th place finish in the state in our first year of competition. My passion and knowledge in science is also strong. I earned scores of 5 on AP Physics 1 and AP Chemistry, and recently completed AP Biology and AP Physics C: Mechanics in my senior year. I’ve also coached middle school Science Olympiad for two years, helping students build their skills and interest in STEM. In addition, I’m a native Mandarin speaker. Mandarin
As a patient and dedicated tutor with experience working with students ages 3 to 18, I design lessons to meet each student’s unique needs and learning pace. I offer tutoring in elementary math through AP Calculus BC, SAT Math prep, sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), and Mandarin (native speaker). I will create personalized materials, including worksheets, visuals, and homework for my students based on their weaknesses. Every class will include a review, guided practice, independent practice, and small games/challenges.
