About Morgan
I have 6 years of experience studying Linguistics at the university level, obtaining both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. In university I worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Toronto, I conducted research in England along with Prof. Sali Tagliamonte, and I was a teaching assistant within the Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) department at Concordia University in Montreal. I also have volunteer experience shadowing a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.
After the completion of my degrees, I worked as an English as a Second Language teacher in Montreal, Canada both online and in-person. I taught individual lessons, groups lessons, and business lessons.

My name is Morgan Marden and I offer accent training lessons to individuals across Canada from a culturally inclusive perspective. Are you fluent, or near-fluent, in English but still find that your accent impedes your ability to be fully understood or taken seriously in your environment? Within our society there are unconscious biases held against minority accents. Unfortunately, these biases can negatively impact individuals with these accents, holding them back from opportunities within Canada. The lessons are designed to help accented individuals be better understood by targeting specific sounds (phonemes) that are challenging for them to use, while still honouring the linguistic features of their accent. The goal is not to eliminate the accent but rather to focus on intelligibility.
