About Leanna
I was born in West Palm, Florida, where my Brazilian mother and half Danish half German father raised my brother and me. We were frequently taken to Brazil to stay for a majority of the year until grade school began.
I completed preschool in Minas Gerais, BR, then started kindergarten in West Palm. Going back and forth between countries, I gained an advanced understanding of language/communication. I've been speaking English and Portuguese, simultaneously, my whole life.
I completed four years of Spanish classes, including IB Spanish, by my senior year in high school. My academic achievement was excellent, I genuinely found learning to be fun. My goal is to teach others to love parts of education, as well, such as learning English.
I've completed a majority of my BAS in psychology and continued to excel. I currently work with children and young adults with autism and intellectual disabilities. I have worked in preschools and as a swim instructor, as well. My ability to turn education into a fun game is strong, so children that I tutor will be engaged. Precision and clear instruction are prevalent in my tutoring, which is great for adults.

I speak four languages; BR Portuguese and English fluently, intermediate Spanish, and working knowledge of French.
My lessons include, but are not limited to:
-Thorough explanations, as you understand, in the language you understand
-Simple examples from my personal archives, such as classic fairytales
-Practice with a fluent, native born, English speaker
-Personalized lesson plans with active involvement from the student
-Student demonstrations of understanding, including presentations, memory challenges, role-play, and real-world practices
Lessons are catered to each student and ages 4+ can be tutored. A precursor to success would be sufficient speech and reading skills, repeatedly shown by the potential student.
