About Ben
Ben is a Film Composer, Artist and a Classical/ Jazz Musician with over 6 years full time experience teaching all ages and abilities, from young pupils to advanced students. Ben studied at City University, London for his Master's degree in Composing for Moving Images and a Bachelor's degree in Music from Canterbury Christchurch University. As a composer Ben has written music for brands such as Land Rover, the UK Intelligence Services and has scored The Consultant Feature film which is available to watch on Amazon Prime. He currently has over 350,000 streams with his music on Spotify which he worked with the Northern Film Orchestra under his name Benjamin Cook which you can listen to on all major streaming platforms.

Ben will explain the basics, work on some simple exercises in class, and set a simple task for next lesson. Classical musician wanting to learn Jazz? If you are a classical musician who would like to learn Jazz but not sure where to start? Then Ben is the perfect teacher for you. Ben was originally a Classical musician but developed his Jazz Piano so he now plays both. He can help you make the transition and develop your playing into improvisation, Jazz theory and confidence playing the piano without sheet music. Perfect! The perfect piano teacher!
We loved our lessons with him — he’s intuitive, wonderfully patient, and somehow tuned in (literally!) to each of our completely different needs. He made every session feel relaxed, personal, and full of little “aha!” moments. Incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely kind. We couldn’t recommend him more!Perfect! Mr. Ben has been an incredible piano teacher for my 8-year-old daughter. In just a few weeks, he has managed to spark her enthusiasm and love for playing. His ability to motivate and make each lesson enjoyable is truly remarkable. She always looks forward to her sessions and has already made noticeable progress. Highly recommended for young aspiring musicians!
Perfect! I had a great lesson with Ben, he's great at communicating and very patient as I've not played for a long time. He showed me new techniques to improve my skills on the piano and I look forward to my future lessons with Ben.

Ben is an incredibly helpful, positive teacher. It is clear that he plans his lessons effectively in order to make the most of the time. He has been the reason for my improvement over the past years and always pushes me to do my best. I would definitely recommend Ben to students of any level.
Ben has taught me (an adult learner) since I first started playing the piano 4.5 years ago. Initially lessons were face to face and then moved online when the pandemic arrived.

NathalieBen is a great piano tutor. Our son started with him when he was 5 and is now 9. He is very encouraging, patient and good at creating a rapport with his pupils, choosing repertoire together that improves their skills but also takes account of their interests so it is enjoyable and maintains their enthusiasm.
