Then through mono acts on various topics, the fun continues. Also get the opportunity to perform on stage and be a part of street plays. Finally when students become confident about it, they can learn more and can perform anywhere.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Engaging in acting involves portraying scripted roles similar to the roles we assume in our everyday lives. While living, embodying these roles is natural; however, when executed in scenarios that exist only in the realm of fiction, it is referred to as acting. The enactment of roles within a script, detached from real-life existence, allows individuals to explore experiences associated with diverse roles that may or may not be encountered in reality.

Mastering the ability to express emotions associated with these roles contributes to the enhancement of communication skills, subsequently influencing one's overall personality. Beyond a recreational pursuit, acting can also be embraced as a viable career option. My journey into acting and theatre commenced during my school days when I discovered a genuine interest in the craft. This interest translated into tangible achievements, garnering prizes and recognition.

As I delved deeper into the world of acting, I recognised its transformative impact on confidence, stage performance, and the sheer enjoyment it brought. Actively participating in various acting programs further fuelled my passion, culminating in my involvement in the theatre club at college. The experience of securing leading roles within the club served as a motivational catalyst, solidifying my commitment to and deepening my interest in acting.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

The motivation behind my decision to pursue teaching is rooted in the enriching experiences, earning opportunities, and personal growth that I derive from engaging in my hobby. The enjoyment I derive from this pursuit further underscores my commitment to teaching. The pivotal role played by my teachers, whom I regard as mentors (Gurus), in enhancing my skills has been instrumental in my own growth. It is this transformative experience that I aspire to impart to my students. Having received numerous benefits from my involvement in acting, I am enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge and passion with the next generation of artists. As an artist, the joy of passing on the valuable lessons I have learned is a fulfilling aspect of my teaching journey.
  • How does your work help society?

My commitment to teaching extends beyond a mere profession, driven by a genuine passion for propagating the art. This dual purpose not only distinguishes me as an educator but also imbues my teaching approach with exceptional motivation. I am dedicated to equipping learners with a skill set that not only enhances their artistic abilities but also contributes to the development of their overall personality.

In order to ensure accessibility to a wider demographic, I maintain affordable pricing structures, enabling individuals from lower-income groups to benefit from exposure to the art. By providing this opportunity, learners can harness their newfound skills for various purposes, including potential career advancement and other productive pursuits as well.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of and why?

My primary source of inspiration in my work is my esteemed Guru, Shree Vilas Janve, from whom I acquired the skill of acting. As a nationally acclaimed artist and recipient of an Academy Award, his exemplary personality and contributions to the field of art serve as a constant source of motivation. It is a distinct honour to be a student under his guidance and to have had the opportunity to perform alongside him. When contemplating the prospect of teaching the art of acting, I invariably draw upon his teachings as the foundation with a pinch of my own methodology, for imparting knowledge and expertise.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Yoga and meditation, playing outdoor sports and reading are my hobbies other than teaching.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One particularly memorable chapter in my theatrical journey unfolded when I represented my University in a prestigious national-level competition. The process of preparation was transformative as our dedicated team, which had evolved into a close-knit family during daily practice sessions, invested nearly eight hours a day over the course of a month, even during our winter break.
Our competition theme centred around patriotism, and when we took the stage, the emotional impact on the audience was profound. The depiction of events unfolding on the borders resonated so deeply that some spectators were moved to tears. Winning the competition was a significant achievement, but the true measure of success lay in the personal connections forged with two audience members who approached our team to express gratitude. Their heartfelt acknowledgement illuminated the genuine impact of our live theatre performance and its emotive storytelling effect.

In recognition of our ability to engage and entertain, the organisers bestowed upon us a special memento, complementing the official prize. This accomplishment brought unexpected opportunities, as local theatre artists in attendance invited me to collaborate with them. The ripple effect continued as my Guru, filled with pride, extended an invitation to perform alongside him later that year, marking one of the most significant moments in my theatre and acting journey.

This experience served as a catalyst for subsequent performances at various competitions and local city-based events, solidifying my reputation as a recognised actor. The enduring resonance of that particular performance remains a cherished and reliable highlight, underscoring the profound impact that theatre can have on both performers and their audience.
