About Aalisha
I am a professional film composer, classical and jazz pianist, rock performer, and songwriter. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and a Master's Music degree in Music Theory and Composition, specializing in Screen Scoring. Music has always been my greatest passion, and I believe it's one of the greatest things that can be a part of someone's life. Learning the language of music is one of the best aspects :)

Each student has a different learning style, and their interests vary vastly. I tailor each student’s lesson plans to match their needs and goals. With my versatile background, I am able to facilitate music theory growth through classical, jazz, rock, pop, and more. Music theory is a language, and it is important to have the opportunity to experience any dialect of that language.
I work with aspiring songwriters, composers, instrumental performers, and even people who have never worked with music who are interested in beginning. I like to incorporate ear training into lessons for a holistic approach - after all, speaking and listening to the language are as important as reading and writing. I like to focus on music theory details in the realms of their musical interests.
I work with any age student, starting from beginners to more experienced learners. I’m flexible with hours and able to come to you in New York City.
