About Lauren
I'm hard working, I'm in the process of becoming an elementary school teacher, I love working with students and I have a real passion for learning languages and multisubject curriculum. I also have a flexible schedule because my classes at UC Santa Barbara are online right now.
I love the process of working with students on their individual needs and watching them grow and develop more confidence in their abilities. Students learn in unique ways and I enjoy the process of finding what works for individuals. Learning should be entertaining, fun and rewarding, and the "aha" moments in that process are priceless.
I have been speaking French since I was two years old. I love the language! I lived in France for four years and lived there with a host family for a summer when I was 16. This year I took French 6 as a refresher and to make sure that I get enough practice in to maintain fluency.
I have a minor in education and I work at a day care in Santa Barbara, where I go to school. I've been working with kids throughout university, and will be a fifth grade teaching assistant at an international school in Japan starting in August.

I start by getting to know their student and their experiences with the language and/or subject. I ask about what skills they would like to improve, I look at their curriculum, talk to parents, and go from there to meet students' needs.
I have tutored middle school students in Santa Barbara in French and English through a tutoring platform, as well.
For a French teacher, I think that it's nice to learn from someone who has the accent down. It helps with learning to hear the accent.
