About Rachel

I graduated in 2021 with a First Class Honours degree in Linguistics from The University of Edinburgh and am now a PhD student at The University of Strathclyde. Alongside my research, I tutor group and individual lessons and am a copyeditor. I have 400+ hours experience tutoring children of all ages from early primary to senior phase high school pupils. Specifically, I tutor in all aspects of French, and have specialist knowledge of the Scottish exam system. I have also worked with pupils sitting GCSE exams in England and Wales. I am patient, enthusiastic, organised, thorough and reliable. My strong track record in engaging with pupils to bring about academic success is testament to this. I also have PVG and DBS clearance and am happy to provide proof of this if required.

About the lesson

My lessons are based on student/parent feedback to ensure high-quality, tailored tuition. As standard, lessons last for one hour but I am happy to be flexible to student needs. I often see quick, marked improvements in my students' work and build good relationships with my client families. I work closely with students and their parents to deliver high-quality, well-planned, confidence-building lessons.

Rachel goes above and beyond in everything she does, which is why she makes an excellent tutor. Not only that, Rachel’s knowledge of the English language (and more!) has always impressed me. Her love for the subjects she teaches is what makes her so passionate and organised for every lesson. I have recommended Rachel to friends and family as I am confident in her ability and know she tailors every lesson to each child.

Rachel has proven to be a very professional, but approachable tutor. She takes time to understand what the individual child needs and works with them to achieve their goals. She is always well prepared and the feedback I get as a parent is also really good.
