About Isla

With nearly a decade of experience teaching French, I’ve helped students from various backgrounds connect with the language and its cultural richness. My approach combines linguistic instruction with a deep dive into French culture, ensuring that students not only learn the language but also understand its context. I believe that language learning should be immersive and engaging, which is why I incorporate cultural lessons, storytelling, and music into my lessons. By making French feel accessible and exciting, I help students feel motivated and empowered in their language journey. Outside of teaching, I stay connected with French culture through literature, cinema, and travel, ensuring that my lessons reflect the living, evolving nature of the language. This keeps my teaching relevant, dynamic, and full of inspiration.

About the lesson

My French lessons are designed to make the language feel alive, accessible, and meaningful. I focus on practical conversation, pronunciation, and listening comprehension, ensuring that each session connects language learning with real-world experiences. Whether you're learning French for travel, work, or personal enrichment, lessons are tailored to meet your individual needs.

Beginners start with vocabulary building, sentence structure, and basic pronunciation exercises, while intermediate students practice conversational skills, listening to dialogues, and understanding written texts. Advanced learners engage in deeper discussions, focusing on idiomatic expressions, cultural nuances, and written composition. I use music, films, and current events to immerse students in French culture and language.

Every class is an opportunity to immerse yourself in French, not just as a language but as a means of understanding a culture. I aim to make students feel confident and comfortable speaking French, leaving each session with new skills and insights.
