About Joe
I'm a guitarist, composer, producer, and music educator with 10+ years of experience, specializing in progressive/fusion styles. My Instagram (concealed information) serves as a hub for most of my musical activity, but my solo project Joelaul (featuring artists such as Jake Howsam Lowe of Plini) can be found on any streaming platform!
I started giving online lessons when I noticed the opportunity to further connect with my audience and help them understand my musical approach. I think music is one of our most powerful tools for connection, and when it comes to my students and supporters, nurturing that connection is the most important thing.

Unlock the fretboard and sound like yourself!
As a mostly self-trained guitarist and composer, I've honed a unique style and an ethos of focusing on what matters most. I've also had plenty of time to realize what works and what doesn't. The guitar has many puzzles, but with a helping of core concepts, you'll be surprised how easy (and fun) it can be to solve them.
I will gauge a student's ear and technical ability and hear out their interests to help determine their path, but ultimately I like to keep things casual and leave the direction up to the student. Above all, it's a hang.
Learning never ends, and much of mine has been achieved while teaching! I love getting to communicate and explore what I'm most passionate about while leading others toward that passion in the process.
