• When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

  At the age of 9 I first sang in an operetta as a treble soloist and to have simply experienced the stage, the costumes and the thrill of it all... I've never felt more alive

• Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

  Gerald Finzi & Vaughan Williams, both are early 20th century English composers, but they bring such serenity to me, I can really listen and sing their music forever.

• Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

  Learn to become patient and don't be too hard on yourself, hard work will pay off with time

• What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

  The voice, we cannot see it and we cannot hold it... We can only understand how it works through abstract thoughts and our perception of our body.

• What are your keys to success?

  It depends on how you define success; I'd say being happy doing the work that you love to do, but not too much where that becomes a burden is in itself a success. Now how do you get there;
  Explore the world, dip your toes into different possibilities.
  Find the one niche that you are good at and master it, work hard and start selling it, do it your own way, DON'T FAKE IT.
  When you've done all of that, FIND YOUR BALANCE.

• Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

  W. A. Mozart; Freddie Mercury & Luciano Pavarotti
  Not much to explain, I think we would end up writing a new opera hit!

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

  The professional music industry is a business like all other industries, we try to make it seem as if it's "more" and to some extent we are right, it is more. It is music that can heal the hearts of many and can bring great change into the minds and hearts of people, but it is also a job and no job is worth destroying yourself for the sake of giving it your all. It is not something that people like to hear... but too many great musicians have died because of this unrelenting industry.

• What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

  My analytical thinking when it comes to technique, but a very emotional approach when it comes to music interpretation.
  Finding that balance is the hardest, but I am certain in my ability to maintain that high standard.
