About Samira

About the lesson

English and French language teacher with over 15 years' experience teaching all age groups across the world. This has allowed me to gain insight into recurring errors common to non-native speakers of either English or French, which enables me to target these mistakes for quicker results. My methodology includes getting to know individual students, working to their strengths and creating a comfortable and safe environment to encourage conversation. I prefer teaching grammar in context to help students commit rules and examples to memory. I have experience teaching children according to the curriculum, helping with homework tasks and providing insightful explanations that help students make sense of the work. Rewards and games can also be used to help children feel at ease and gain confidence. I have also taught university-level students to develop all four skills – speaking, listening, writing, reading – simultaneously so that they can gain fluency in their new language. My experience also includes teaching adults who wish to learn a new language for pleasure, for work or for immigration purposes. A typical lesson plan will usually be based around a theme, drawing from various resources to develop students’ speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills over one or two sessions.
